Contracts AI

How do I ask questions about my contracts?

Ask questions and get answers from your contract data. Contracts AI uses your contracts and metadata to answer questions about terms, renewals, parties, and more.

You can ask questions in plain language from Home (global questions), from a Contract Detail page (questions about that contract only), from Contract Views (questions about the current view or selected contracts), or from Invoices (questions about invoices).

You can ask questions in 97 supported languages.

From Home

  • Type your question in the input (e.g. "Which contracts expire in Q2?" or "List all MSAs with liability cap over $1M").
  • Send the message. The AI uses your organization's contract data (and your permissions) to answer.
  • You can ask follow-up questions in the same thread; the AI keeps context. Results may include tables, lists, or links to contracts.

From Contract Views (selected contracts)

  • In Contract Views, select one or more contracts using the checkboxes.
  • Open the Chat Sidebar (or from the toolbar Compare button). Questions are scoped to the selected contracts only.
  • With one contract selected, the AI answers about that contract (like on Contract Detail page). With multiple selected, the AI can compare or answer across those contracts.
  • Use Compare to send a comparison prompt to Home for the selected contracts, or ask your own question in the sidebar.

From Contract Detail (Chat Sidebar)

  • Open a contract, then open the Chat Sidebar.
  • Your questions here are scoped to that contract. Ask things like "What is the notice period?" or "Summarize the indemnity clause." The AI uses that contract's extracted data and (where available) the document.
  • Answers and follow-ups stay in the sidebar; you can also start a session from Home and reference a contract if the AI supports it.

Chat tables, view creation, and drafts

  • Tables in responses – When the AI returns a table of contracts (e.g. from a search or comparison), you can turn that result into a Contract View. Use Create view with all contracts (or Open view with all contracts if a view already exists for that set) on the message. A new view is created with those contracts and you are taken to Contract Views.
  • Contract draft – If the AI returns a contract draft (e.g. generated text), use View / edit draft on the message to open the draft sidebar. You can edit the content, save it to the message, or download it as PDF or Word.

Message action buttons

On each AI message you may see:

  • Create view with all contracts / Open view with all contracts – When the response includes a table of contracts; creates or opens a view with those contracts.
  • View / edit draft – When the response includes draft contract content; opens the Contract draft sidebar to edit, save, or download.
  • Tell me more – Sends a follow-up to get more detail (available in Chat Sidebar).
  • Thumbs up – Mark the response as helpful.
  • Thumbs down – Report an incorrect or bad answer.
  • Save prompt – Save the prompt for reuse (e.g. on Home).

Use Chat History to return to past sessions. The AI does not see contracts you are not allowed to access; results respect your permissions.
