Syncing a contract with its source (e.g. Drive, SharePoint)

Refresh contract data from the connected source system. Re-sync from Google Drive, SharePoint, or another source to pull in the latest file and metadata.

If your organization has connected a source system (e.g. Google Drive, SharePoint), contracts can be synced so the app's data matches the latest version in that system.

When sync is available

  • The contract detail page may show a Sync or Refresh from source option when the contract was imported from a connected integration and sync is supported for that source.
  • If you don't see it, either the contract wasn't imported from an integration or your admin has not enabled sync for that source.

What sync does

  • Re-reads the document from the source (e.g. the same file in Drive or SharePoint).
  • Re-extracts metadata and clauses using the current AI/extraction pipeline, updating fields and clauses in the app.
  • Preserves your manual edits in some configurations; in others, re-extraction may overwrite certain fields. Check with your admin for the exact behavior.

How to sync

  1. Open the contract detail page.
  2. Click the Sync to [source] button in the toolbar (e.g. "Sync to Google Drive") or open More actions (three dots) and choose Sync to [source]. You need the sync_to_source permission.
  3. Wait for the sync to complete. The button may show "Syncing…" and then a success or failure state (e.g. "Synced" with a timestamp). When done, the page reflects the updated data.

Sync is useful after the contract document has been updated in the source system (e.g. an amended PDF) and you want the app to reflect those changes. If sync fails, check that the source connection is still valid and that the file still exists and is accessible.
