How do I edit contract fields?

Edit extracted or custom fields on a contract. Update any editable field on the contract detail page, including extracted data and custom attributes defined by your admin.

You can update many contract fields directly on the contract detail page, depending on your permissions and how the field is configured.

Where you can edit

  • Overview tab – Quick glance and other attributes often support inline editing. Double-click a value or click an edit icon to change it.
  • Category tabs – Terms, Financial, Legal, and other tabs may show editable fields. Same pattern: double-click or use the edit control.
  • Custom fields – Custom attributes (see the "Other" or custom-fields section) are typically editable if your admin enabled editing.

How to edit

  1. Double-click the cell or value, or click the edit (pencil) icon.
  2. Change the value. Depending on the field type you may see:
    • Text – Type or paste.
    • Date – Use a date picker.
    • Dropdown – Choose from allowed values (e.g. contract type, status).
    • Number – Enter a number (and optionally currency/unit).
  3. Save (e.g. Save button or checkmark) or cancel (e.g. Cancel or Escape).

Edits are saved to the contract record. They do not change the original document (e.g. PDF); they update the data the app uses for search, reporting, and AI. Some fields may be read-only or show "Access Restricted" if you lack permission.
