Deleting Contracts
Permanently delete a contract from ContractsAI, understand what data is removed (including relationships), and what remains unaffected.
Deleting a contract permanently removes it and its contract-specific records from ContractsAI.
Important: Deletion is irreversible. After deletion, the contract and its associated data cannot be restored from the app.
Before you delete
- Use delete only when you are sure the contract should be permanently removed.
- If you might need it later, use archive/inactive workflows instead of permanent deletion.
Steps to delete a contract
- Select one or more Contract using the checkboxes or open the Contract Detail page for a contract.
- Click the More actions toolbar button (⋯).
- Select Delete
- Confirm in the delete dialog.
If you do not see Delete , your role may not have delete permission.
What gets deleted
When you delete a contract, ContractsAI removes the contract and contract-specific associated records, including:
- Contract metadata/fields tied to that contract
- Extracted/analysis data tied to that contract
- Search/index records for that contract
- Contract-specific obligations and risk records
- Custom field values for that contract
- Relationship edges and links connected to that contract (both incoming and outgoing, but other contracts remain in the system)
What does not get affected
Deleting one contract does not delete other contracts or their data.
- Contract views continue to work.
- Saved views/filters remain, but deleted contracts disappear from results.
- Unrelated records and analytics for other contracts are unchanged.
Delete vs archive
-
Archive Keeps the contract in the system but marks it inactive.
-
Delete Permanently removes the contract and associated contract-specific data.
Use Archive when you want reversibility; use Delete only for permanent removal.
