Gold standard clauses (Admin)
Create and manage gold standard clauses for comparison. Define the ideal wording for key clauses so users can compare contract language against your standard.
Gold standard clauses are your organization's preferred or required clause language. They're used to compare contract clauses against the standard and to suggest improvements.
Where to manage them
- Admin → Gold Standard (or "Generate Gold Standard" / "Gold standard clauses").
- You can add clauses (name/category and the standard text), edit existing ones, and remove ones no longer in use.
- Clauses may be grouped by type (e.g. liability, indemnity, termination) or contract type (e.g. MSA-only standards).
How they're used
- Contract detail → Clauses tab – Users run Compare to gold standard to see how a contract's clauses differ from the standard. Differences are highlighted.
- Adding from a contract – From a contract's clause, users with permission can Add to gold standard to push that clause into the library for future use.
- Reanalyze – When you reanalyze contracts, clause extraction may be updated; comparisons use the latest gold standard and extracted clauses.
Keeping gold standards up to date improves comparison quality. Consider reviewing them when your legal team updates templates or playbooks.
