Contract types (Admin)
Define and manage contract types used across the app. Contract types help organize and filter contracts; admins create and maintain the list.
Contract types (e.g. MSA, NDA, SOW, Amendment) are used to categorize contracts, filter views, and control extraction or access.
Where to manage them
- Admin → Contract Types.
- You can add new types (name and optionally description), edit existing ones, and deactivate types you no longer use. Deleting a type may be restricted if contracts still use it.
How they're used
- Contract detail – Each contract has a contract type; users can filter and sort by it in views.
- Extraction and AI – Some extraction or AI behavior may vary by type (e.g. different clause sets for MSAs vs. NDAs).
- Access and views – Contract access rules and saved views often filter by contract type.
- Gold standard – Gold standard clauses may be associated with specific contract types.
Keep type names consistent (e.g. "MSA" vs. "Master Service Agreement") so reporting and filters stay clear. If your contracts are synced from a source system, types may be mapped from that system; check the source or integration settings.
